Sprenger's hackamore has a padded noseband and an adjustable leather curb strap. Hackamore is the most common bitless alternative to a conventional bridle, for example, when the horse has an injury in the mouth area, when you have trouble finding a bit that fits your horse or when you would like to avoid a bit. The Hackamore is a sharp type of bitting that puts pressure on the horse’s poll, the sensitive bridge of the nose and chin. The Hackamore should therefore only be used by the experienced rider.
